Mechanical steady rest

The lathe steady rest is primarily used for turning long and slender shafts, long bar stocks, and workpieces prone to deformation. Its core functions are to provide support, dampen vibration, prevent deformation, and significantly improve machining accuracy. It is often used in conjunction with a follower rest. The steady rest is fixed on the lathe bed to support and fix the workpiece at the designated point. Combined with the tailstock center, it realizes a stable clamping setup of "one chuck, one center" plus steady rest support.Workpieces that are long, slender, prone to shaking or bending, all require the use of a steady rest.
